State of Decay 2 will arrive at Steam in early 2020; cross-play confirmed

Undead Labds confirms that it will take State of Decay 2 to Steam during the first half of next year. It can be played between Xbox One, Windows Store and Steam.

State of Decay 2 will arrive at Steam during the first section of 2020. The company has directly uploaded the game card on the Valve platform so that everyone can be aware of the news around its launch. In an official announcement revealed shortly afterwards, Undead Labs confirmed that this version will support the Xbox Live ecosystem cross game. Users who play on the Windows Store, Xbox One and Steam can do so with each other without any barrier. It will also feature cloud storage and achievements.

The study calls us to a broadcast on November 25 at 6 in the morning (Peninsular time) to learn more in-depth details of your transfer to a new system. They will do it on their usual communication channels: Twitch, YouTube and Mixer. In this way, it follows in the footsteps of its predecessor, since both the original version and the remastering could bring together an extensive community within Steam.

Recall that State of Decay 2 is part of the Xbox Game Pass subscription, both its console and PC version.

Reviews: wasted potential

In our verdict of the past 2018, we said that “it hardly takes advantage of the great potential that its predecessor left there by 2013. What we have found almost five years later is practically the same experience, renewed with small adjustments and with the presence of the already so vaunted cooperative mode Sin of continuity is not a bad thing. We have already seen cases where if something works, it should not be changed. What happens with the new work of Undead Labs is that it has tended to simplify some aspects to take the game towards a more purely ‘arcade’ ”.

Although the negative tarnishes the overall result, State of Decay 2 is a “fun experience” thanks to the “improvement in replayability”. Remember that we have three maps to cross as we clear the pandemic around the world.
