The Japanese company reveals a docking back button, which can be used to remap the remote and for other additional functions.
Just under a year for the generational change, PlayStation 4 and its remote, the Dual Shock 4, still have something to say. Sony has just announced a new accessory that can be attached to the console control and that will open the doors to new possibilities. The Japanese company has presented it through a trailer, which you can see on these lines. It is a device designed for the competitive world, so you can remap the buttons to your liking.
The accessory has an OLED screen, a mini jack output for the headphones and two programmable buttons, with which we will have the option to modify the controls (16 different functions). The central button will be reserved to switch between three different profiles, so that we can experiment with different combinations and switch between them quickly.

On sale in February
Through the Official PlayStation Blog, it has been confirmed that the product will go on sale next February 14 at a recommended price of 29.99 euros. "We are excited to introduce the DualShock 4 Back Button Attachment to players of all levels who enjoy the competitive game," they say at the entrance. “This attachable accessory reinforces the playability and allows more versatility and performance, while maintaining the comfort and sensations of the DualShock 4,” they continue.
Meanwhile, Sony continues to work on its new PlayStation 5. Microsoft unveiled the appearance of Xbox Series X during The Game Awards 2019, but the Japanese company has not yet made any move on it. Along with the announcement of the Redmond console, the command was also shown, which we have written on FreeGameTips. What we know about DualShock 5 (name not confirmed) is that it will use haptic functions, which will contribute, according to Sony, to improve the immersion of players at the controls.
