Valheim’s 1.0 update brings the Grappling Hook, a feature that transforms traversal in the Mistlands and Deep North into a new playground of mobility.

Players can assemble the Grappling Hook using the following recipe:
- 10 Yggdrasil Wood
- 10 Refined Eitr

Collecting Yggdrasil Wood
Yggdrasil Wood is the easiest resource for the hook. Harvest any Mistlands tree with at least a Black Metal Axe to collect the wood.
Producing Refined Eitr
Refined Eitr is crafted in an Eitr Refinery, where Sap and Soft Tissue combine. Sap is extracted from Ancient Roots, while Soft Tissue comes from Giant skulls or Putrid Holes’ flesh, and can also drop from Dvergr factions. The refinery itself requires 20 Black Marble, 5 Black Metal, 10 Yggdrasil Wood, 5 Black Core, and 3 Sap.
Securing Mandibles
Defeat Seeker soldiers inside Infested Mines in the Mistlands. These larger variants drop Mandibles upon defeat.
Finding Hooks
Hooks are exclusively stored within Dvergr treasure chests inside Infested Mines. Locate stone doors marked with blue glyphs, enter through them, and loot the rooms for hooks. A single hook completes the recipe.
