Warframe: Deadlock Protocol will arrive in May; first details

Digital Extremes passes its next content, Deadlock Protocol, from April to May. Warframe will delve into the origin of the Corpus and its founder.

The coronavirus crisis has fully impacted the development of the main service games. With giants like Final Fantasy XIV delaying their major updates, Digital Extremes had to do the same with The Deadlock Protocol, one of the expected content capsules in Warframe for the first half of the year.

The company delayed its arrival from April to May, although we do not know the exact day (if everything goes well). Along with the date, various information has been shared regarding what it will include. Although we already knew in January that it would focus on the origins of the Corpus, those who are "trying to revive". As they describe, we will have to "discover the secrets about its founder and end all plans."

This new storyline comes from Protea, the new warframe that will have its own chain of missions. Delving into the background of this faction will allow veterans to complete their vision of them so far.

The new Corpus ship reissue features a new golden hand statue. This item will be of great importance in the update as it will be linked to the new Greed Tokens. As players collect it as they battle, they can be redeemed for rewards. A Corpus kingdom "similar to a rush mode" is included.

Along with the additions, we did not want to leave behind the remastering of some boss battles. The boss Jackal will undergo modifications in his presentation and ease in combat. As narrated in the press release, it will have "more phases, more modern animations, a new look and new tricks".

Last but not least, you should keep in mind the start of the third season of Nightwave. The Glassmaker will kick off in early May with new exclusive items and a new storyline.

Remember that Warframe is currently available on PS4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch. With the new generation on the horizon, it has already confirmed its future presence on PS5 and Xbox Series X.
