Although after the confirmation of the premiere of the Snyder Cut it was already commented that Warner Bros. would treat the new Justice League cut as Elseworlds and that it would not continue its story in future adaptations, now Zack Snyder himself has reiterated that his new film will not be canon for the DC Universe, as Warner Bros. wants to keep the story already told in Joss Whedon’s Justice League as the basis for future stories.
“This movie, my Justice League, is not canon. Canon for Warner Bros. is Joss Whedon’s version of Justice League. That’s on your mind, that’s canon. And everything I’m doing is not. And I’m fine with that because I feel that the only way to make this film with autonomy was accepting on my part the fact that it is not canon ”, concludes the director.
So much so, that even from Warner Bros. there is no intention of continuing the Snyder Cut story with new installments; Although Zack Snyder had the Justice League planned as a trilogy, it seems that the story will end with this new adaptation, even with the open plots or winks that may occur at the end of it, as Snyder himself already advanced.
