Gears 5 receives Operation 2: FFA with new modes, characters and maps

The Coalition offers a preview of all the new contents of the Free For All update, available on PC and Xbox One on December 11.

The Coalition, as it advanced months ago, has shared a new look at the next contents of the Operation 2: Free For All update, a series of novelties that will bring new game modes, characters and maps with the most ambitious versus the Gears of War saga and a lot of unpublished content, available on PC and Xbox One as of December 11, if everything evolves as planned.

Up to 14 players all against all

Thus, the FFA or Free For All mode is the main protagonist of this new series of contents, a mode of all against all for up to 14 players, the most massive in the history of the saga, with several factors such as standard equipment or more immediate comeback with three new maps such as Pit, Core and Nethercutt. Available from January, it can be accessed through qualifying games, the winner being the first player to reach 30 casualties.

On the other hand, new game modes such as Arcade Blitz, a more frantic variant of King of the Hill, and Gnashers 2 vs 2 will be added along with two new wedge maps such as the already known Boxes and Foundation Mid. In addition, two more maps will be added for quick departures such as Allfathers Arena and Lift, completely redesigned.

At the character level, up to four new ones will be added, with Lizzie Carmine and Damon Baird on the side of the heroes and Locust Drone and Jermand de Rise of Raam; While heroes will be available in Horde, Escape and Arcade modes, villains will only be available in Arcade.
