Doom Slayer is headed for Call of Duty Black Ops 7 and Warzone with the upcoming Haunting update, welcoming fans of classic horror into the battlefield.
Season 6: The Haunting Unleashes Doom™ Slayer
Activision’s second‑half 2026 update drops on September 17, introducing a limited‑time Doom Event Pass that features the Doom Slayer Operator, modeled after Doom: The Dark Ages, plus the original Doomguy skin and the Roc 20mm Special Weapon.
Additional cosmetics include the Crucible Blade, a melee weapon that echoes the series’ iconic blade‑throwing style.
Doom‑Themed Assets for Operators and Tracers
The DUO‑Demonic Essence Pack expands the operator roster with visage skins inspired by the Slayer’s adversaries: the “Marauder” Jurado skin in the Guild hierarchy, “Icon of Sin” Samuels for JSOC, and the “Hellish Argent” M15 Mod 0 assault rifle, complete with cursed tracers and death effects. The Smg “Putrid Essence” Dravec 45 and the “Marauder’s Axe” melee blueprint further deepen the Doom aesthetic.
Functional rewards include the “Futile” finishing move, the “Prepared to Destroy” emote, the Cacodemon charm, the “Death Wave” animated emblem, and the “Hell Invasion” calling card.
Unlockable Operators and Battle Pass Highlights
In addition to the Slayer, The Haunting unlocks The Warden operator, along with a return to Danny “Blackjack” Li and the inclusion of the VMP submachine gun from Black Ops 3 into the Battle Pass. These additions set the stage for a more varied operator experience.
Map Revamps and new Playable Zones
Classic Sanctuaries such as Bloodstead receive new thematic overlays that amplify the Halloween feeling. A fresh six‑v‑six map, Quantumn, is announced as Black Ops 7’s final major drop before the shift to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 on October 23, 2026.
Preparing for the Next Chapter
With the final season 6 update approaching, players face a decisive choice: climb the ranks with the new Doom assets or chart a path toward the forthcoming Modern Warfare reboot. The introduction of Doom Slayer signals a sharp pivot from the old to the new, setting a high bar for what’s to follow in the franchise’s evolving battlefield landscape.
