The inaugural episode of the DTM’s new reality documentary “Behind the Grid” will premiere Friday, 28 August 2026 at 8 p.m. (CEST).
The series will stream for free on Joyn, ServusTV ON, and Red Bull TV, with an English‑language feed on DTM’s official YouTube channel. Each 20‑minute episode will drop weekly through the season’s finale.
Series Concept and Production
Produced by fahrwerkfilm, the crew follows two DTM drivers each weekend, capturing moments from podium ceremonies to post‑race press conferences. The narrative follows pressure, conflict, decision‑making, teamwork, and the sport’s intensity, revealing conversations on shuttle buses and otherwise inaccessible scenes.
The documentary format mirrors the style of Formula 1’s Netflix series “Drive to Survive,” aiming to showcase drivers’ personalities against the backdrop of the 2026 season that began at the Red Bull Ring in late April.
Platform Availability
Viewers can access the show without charge on Joyn, ServusTV ON, Red Bull TV, and DTM’s English‑tuned YouTube channel, broadening the audience beyond traditional petrolhead circles.
Quotes from DTM Leadership
Claudia Wagner, DTM managing director, stated the series “adds a crucial new component to our communication strategy” and acknowledged the drivers, teams, and manufacturers for their cooperation. Peter Linke, CEO of fahrwerkfilm, highlighted the documentary’s ability to showcase the DTM’s potential beyond results.
