Modder Nukedrop announced the recreation days after Formula 1 confirmed a decade‑long partnership to bring a Grand Prix to Africa. The stream, which has over 41,000 views and more than 690 likes, was initially shared on Reddit’s Formula 1 subreddit and later amplified on X by Spanish account Nachez.
Fan Construction vs. Official Design
Unlike Romeo Gagliotti’s fictional 5.3 km circuit and a separate version in F1 25, Nukedrop’s layout measures just 4.65 km. The official blueprint, still under development by Carsten Tilke and Wurz Design, promises roughly six kilometres and 17 corners on an anti‑clockwise track.
Both trackers rely on educated guesses. Wurz claims a total vertical gain of 197 m, while the fan model records about 70 m of altitude change from low to high—consistent with a 197 m climb that spans 70 m vertically.
Topographical Highlights
The real track will weave through elevated terrain near Bugesera, only forty kilometres south of Kigali, and feature a lakeside section. Tilke says gradients reach 12‑13 %, and Wurz has described the layout as “like a roller coaster and truly unique.” The design will also include a high‑speed straight exceeding one kilometre, ending in a corner poised to encourage overtaking.
In the simulation, a Ferrari sporting the red‑and‑white livery, number 44, and a yellow‑helmeted Hamilton leans beneath a bridge, stepping over coloured kerbing and mirroring real‑world laps recorded by active F1 drivers.
Community Impact and Availability
Nukedrop, known for Pikes Peak and Circuit Thermalito in the Assetto Corsa arena, released the mod in a 24‑hour sprint. Loyal supporters on Patreon can download the file, but the full, officially sanctioned layout remains unannounced until the early 2030s.
While the fan initiative offers one of the most detailed previews yet, Wurz has tested the full version in simulation and with Formula 1 racers. Until that official version surfaces, the Ferrari‑laden visualization represents the closest glimpse available to weekend spectators.
