The title will head to the Microsoft console soon, although it has not given an exclusive date. He is expected to date A Realm Reborn.
Long night for Microsoft after what has been one of the Inside Xbox with more ads that are remembered in the history of the format. After announcing a flood of deliveries from the Final Fantasy saga for the Xbox Game Pass membership service from Final Fantasy VII onwards, Square Enix has confirmed within the framework of X019 that Final Fantasy XIV will also reach Xbox One.
Phil Spencer, head of the Microsoft video game division, has told The Verge that yes, Final Fantasy XIV [presumably the Final Fantasy XIV edition: A Realm Reborn] will set course for Xbox One in the future after passing through PS4 and Xbox One. Negotiations with Naoki Yoshida, producer and director of such acclaimed massively multiplayer online project, have gone great to achieve it.
“We want you to know that you can be calm: we will take the game to Xbox. We have a great relationship with Yoshida-san and we are working to bring the multiplatform MMO to Xbox, ”he says. These are the other deliveries of Final Fantasy confirmed for Xbox One and Xbox Game Pass during the Inside Xbox held this past November 14:
- Final Fantasy VII
- Final Fantasy VIII: Remastered
- Final Fantasy IX
- Final Fantasy X: HD Remastered
- Final Fantasy X-2: HD Remastered
- Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age
- Final Fantasy XIII
- Final Fantasy XIII-2
- Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII
- Final Fantasy XV
The news does not look surprising because, as confirmed by Naoki Yoshida, currently responsible for the MMO, to FreeGameTips in an interview last August, his plans were to take the game to other platforms. In March, he even said the following: “We are already talking to Nintendo, Microsoft and Google, of course; Right now I cannot say anything because we are still in negotiations, but once we have clear details we will make an announcement. […] We are currently negotiating to take it to all those platforms. ”
Meanwhile, Final Fantasy XIV is available on PlayStation 4 and PC.
