Rockstar Games has officially confirmed that the upcoming GTA 6 will revive the iconic six‑star wanted level, promising a more intense and unpredictable police chase experience.
New Tactical Pursuit Mechanics
In GTA 6 extended look footage, the wanted HUD displays the star level in the upper right corner, indicating that reaching six stars represents the most extreme criminal scenarios on the Leonida map. According to Rockstar North co‑studio head Rob Nelson, pursuing the player now requires an NPC to witness the crime or an alarm to be triggered, moving beyond indiscriminate police chase.
Enhanced Police Perception Indicators
Beyond the visual stars, the game introduces additional indicators revealing whether officers know the player’s appearance, clothing, or vehicle, and whether a CCTV camera has recorded the action. These details mean a simple speedshift will no longer guarantee escape.
Strategies for Evading the Highest Level
Player actions now influence how much data the police acquire. To mitigate the risk of reaching six stars, gamers can:
- Change into plain clothing or abandon a recognizable vehicle.
- Separate paths for characters Jason and Lucia.
- Leave the crime scene swiftly before escalation.
