Pit‑Lane Rupture and Penalty
On lap 36, during Port Hudson’s first stop, Palou clipped a right‑rear tyre left behind by rookie Mick Schumacher of Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing, forcing a drive‑through penalty that slid him to the back of the field.
Lap‑Down Service and Minor Suspension Damage
A fitting mishap at the left‑front tyre during his second stop dropped him another lap. Later, a wall contact forced minor suspension damage that proved catastrophic when he spun in Turn 3 on lap 122.
Repair and Finish
