Kasey Kahne finally captured his first World of Outlaws victory last month at Williams Grove Speedway, a milestone that could signal a resurgence of his racing career.
Kahne’s unexpected win behind the wheel of the No. 39M
Although racing in the No. 39M for the ailing Anthony Macri, Kahne’s victory marked the end of a long wait for his inaugural win on the Outlaws tour.
He received the call recently to drive Macri’s car and then committed to ten races for the powerful team, an arrangement that “helped me a ton” according to the former NASCAR Cup Series driver.
Back in his own seat alongside Daison Pursley
This week Kahne is once again behind the wheel of his own car, sharing the field with full‑time teammate Daison Pursley, who stepped up after Brad Sweet’s departure.
The duo is preparing for the Knoxville Nationals prelims, with Kahne determined to keep the “No. 9 guys” improving, even though he has not raced with them frequently this year.
Future ambitions and family backing
“I’ve never lost my passion for driving” and he says he still enjoys competing while also owning cars at the top level, adding that the support of Amy Long and their children _, Ana and Tanner, keeps him motivated.
