April Rivola, CEO of Aprilia Racing, explained that the rider was “feeling shit” almost a day after the incident. Rivola noted that the marshal’s own actions contributed to the confusion: the marshal accidentally revved the engine while lifting the bike from gravel, causing the rear wheel to spin at high speed and send debris flying.
