Marco Bezzecchi Claims Pole at San Marino GP
Marco Bezzecchi has taken pole position for the San Marino Grand Prix after shattering the Misano circuit record during Saturday’s qualifying session.
The Aprilia rider clocked 1′29.982, beating the factory Ducati’s Marc Marquez by 0.198 seconds and securing his fourth pole of the season.
Marquez will follow Bezzecchi in second place, while the third spot falls to Gresini’s Fermín Aldeguer who advanced out of Q1.
The second row packs heavy firepower: VR46’s Fabio Di Giannantonio, Aprilia’s championship‑contender Jorge Martin, and Honda’s Luca Marini, who will start from sixth.
Alex Marquez, on track for a podium, was demoted to ninth after two crashes in Q2. KTM’s Pedro Acosta edges him in full‑time hunting.
Johann Zarco, originally 11th, was penalised for impeding Bezzecchi in Q2 and will start from eleventh on the grid.
The 2 pm start will see MotoGP legend Valentino Rossi in attendance, ready to support the VR46 factory.
