Ryan Newman is set to return to the NASCAR Truck Series on July 18 at North Wilkesboro Speedway, marking his first start since the 2018 season.
Free‑Agent Drive for Kaulig Racing
Newman will piloting the No. 25 Kaulig Racing Ram 1500, joining a rotating lineup that has featured Tony Stewart, Clint Bowyer, Jamie McMurray, Travis Pastrana, Colin Braun, A.J. Allmendinger, Parker Kligerman, Corey LaJoie, Ty Dillon and Carson Ferguson in the team’s free‑agent program.
Speaking in a team release, Newman said, “I’m really excited to get back behind the wheel at North Wilkesboro and to be part of Ram’s Free Agent Program. It’s special returning to a brand I had so much success with early in my career, and racing at Wilkesboro is always cool.”
Veteran Credentials
In the Cup Series, the 48‑year‑old has amassed 733 starts, 18 victories—including a 2018 Daytona 500 win—and 51 poles, with a career-best second place in the 2014 championship standings.
He has also logged 65 starts in the X‑finity Series, seven wins, and won an NCTS event in his debut at Atlanta in 2008. Although he has only run seven Truck starts, his last appearance was in 2018, and he failed to qualify for the 2021 Bristol Dirt race.
Newman remains active elsewhere, recording back‑to‑back top‑ten finishes in the 2024 NASCAR Whelen Modified Series.
