Trackhouse has sealed a two‑season extension with Raul Fernandez for the 2027 and 2028 MotoGP campaigns.
Two‑Year Commitment After Prolonged Talks
The partnership was finalized after almost six months of negotiations, during which the rider insisted on a fixed two‑year deal while the American outfit preferred a more open arrangement.
Team owner Francisco Marks said the renewal reflects Fernandez’s full dedication to Trackhouse’s mission and acknowledges his growing expertise on the bike, his riding craft, and his preparation mindset.
From Moto2 Rises to MotoGP Struggles
Fernandez burst onto the scene in Moto2 with eight victories, seven pole positions, and 12 podiums. Despite the haul he narrowly missed the title by four points to teammate Remy Gardner.
At 21, KTM catapulted him into MotoGP with the Tech3 squad, a step that proved demanding. The season ended with Fernandez freeing himself from the contract and joining RNF, the Aprilia satellite outfit.
Trackhouse Tenure and Recent Highlights
Since the team’s acquisition by Trackhouse, Fernandez is entering his third season with his new banner. He claimed his inaugural MotoGP win at the Australian Grand Prix in 2023 and followed it with a podium at Valencia.
In 2024, the Madrid‑born rider has already secured podium finishes in Thailand, Assen, and Sachsenring, and is still chasing the first victory of the current campaign.
Looking Ahead: Bastianini’s Arrival
Trackhouse’s 2027 lineup will feature Enea Bastianini, who after two challenging seasons with Tech3‑KTM, gained release and is moving alongside Fernandez under the full factory support promised by Aprilia.
The combined experience of Fernandez and Bastianini is expected to position the team as a continual championship threat in the coming seasons.
