Steven Ogg, best known for lauding Trevor Phillips in GTA 5, has flipped his previous stance, announcing plans to stream GTA 6 at launch, despite earlier dismissals of the title.
Steven Ogg’s Reversal on GTA 6
While attending a fan convention in September 2025, Ogg declared that he does not care about Rockstar’s next open‑world game, citing a lack of interest in gaming. The same event, however, later revealed a sudden change of heart. After re‑watching GTA 5 with actor Ned Luke, Ogg admitted that the experience sparked a fresh excitement for hunting game lore and long‑form playthroughs.
Collaboration with Ned Luke Sparks Marathon Vision
Luke, currently conducting a complete GTA 5 playthrough on his YouTube channel, has invited Ogg as a recurring guest star. Ogg’s first appearance in the latest video, “The Final Mission: Episode 11,” revealed that gaming was a gift from Luke and that the pair plan to stream GTA 6 together. “It’s going to be so f***king different. It’ll be kind of fun,” Ogg said, while Luke confirmed a post‑GTA 5 schedule that includes the new title.
Ogg’s new enthusiasm signals a shift from his prior criticism to an embrace of the franchise’s evolving narrative. He now expresses curiosity about the new actors and missions, noting that their depth has increased over the past twelve years of Rockstar production.
Playthrough Projections and Future Prospects
Rob Nelson, co‑head of Rockstar North, has confirmed that a single GTA 6 playthrough might extend beyond 80 hours. Ogg hinted that he might become part of the game itself, adding an unpredictable element to the marathon. Luke, meanwhile, displayed a playful grin when asked about ongoing communication with Rockstar, suggesting the duo’s close ties to both the studio and the upcoming release.
