Fortnite players can secure the Shadow the Hedgehog skin for free by competing in the Shadow Cup, a solo competitive event that begins on August 21, 2026.
Shadow Cup – Earn the Skin at No Cost
The Cup runs across Battle Royale, Zero‑Build, and Mobile modes. To claim the free skin, players must finish within the region‑specific placement thresholds outlined below.

- Asia – Top 100
- Middle East – Top 100
- Europe – Top 1,000
- Brazil – Top 200
- NA Central – Top 700
- NA West – Top 200
Score 40 points to unlock Sonic’s Roll spray, and 8 points for Shadow’s Power spray, both available to players meeting the required placements.
Mobile Shadow Cup – Compact Rewards
On mobile, the Cup shrinks the prize pool. Eligible placements are:

Here, 20 points secure Sonic’s Roll spray and 5 points grant Shadow’s Power spray.
Item Shop Purchase – Standard Route
If the Cup doesn’t bring you the free cosmetics, the next option is the in‑game shop. Expect the Shadow the Hedgehog bundle to appear on August 23, 2026, priced at 2,500 V‑Bucks. Key steps:
- Open the Item Shop in Fortnite.
- Locate the Shadow the Hedgehog bundle; it will index at the top of the shop.
- Select the bundle or individual items, then press the Purchase button.
- Retrieve the new cosmetics from your locker thereafter.
Lacking V‑Bucks, players can still opt for free skins currently available or consider the Chapter 7 Season 4 Battle Pass for greater V‑Bucks value.
Expected Price List – Shadow Collab Items
| Cosmetic | Cost (V‑Bucks) |
|---|---|
| Shadow the Hedgehog Bundle | 2,500 |
| Shadow the Hedgehog Skin | 1,800 |
| Doom’s Eye Back Bling | 500 |
| Super Shadow Transformation Emote | 300 |
| Shadow’s Power Spray | 200 |
| Sonic’s Roll Spray | 200 |
The collaboration will appear briefly; Epic Games rotates out the items after a few days, so timely action is advisable.
Players who gauge the competition will see the same ultimate benefit: a fearless Shadow the Hedgehog cosmetic for free or a small V‑Bucks investment, all amid the new Chapter 7 Season 4 landscape.
