Acosta seized the gap created by the clash; he overtook Bezzecchi on the outside and then vied for Marquez’s lead, only to be outpaced by a series of fastest laps in the 1:46s range.
In his own words, Acosta shared that he aimed to “catch Marc and Marco and ride with them,” but found himself “in the slipstream” and eventually “on the right.”
