Rockstar Games has subpoenaed YouTube creator DarkViperAU in a DMCA action linked to GTA 6 gameplay leaks.
New York Subpoena Targets Discord Data
On Friday, a court in the Southern District of New York issued a DMCA subpoena to Microsoft and Discord, demanding records tied to the “CyberLeek” account. The document singles out DarkViperAU’s Discord server, known as darkviperau, on its second page.
Investigators seek any chat logs, file uploads, or shared content that could connect DarkViperAU to the leaked GTA 6 footage.
Discord Cleared, Yet Records Retained
Observers noted that the public Discord channels have all been removed, a probable attempt to erase incriminating material. However, Discord’s policy retains data on its servers long after deletion, leaving a trail that Rockstar can explore.
The deletion may also signal the server’s tremendous influence within the GTA community, making its content highly valuable.
DarkViperAU’s Denial and Past Leaks
In a three‑hour stream, DarkViperAU denied involvement in the leaks, describing the subpoena as “confusing.” He maintains that he merely reported on GTA 6 material rather than instigating it.
Despite this, the YouTuber first warned that GTA 6 trailer 3 would not debut, instead offering extended gameplay footage instead—a claim that later proved true.
Only the court will determine if DarkViperAU’s coverage places him within Rockstar’s legal picture.
