Leaked footage of Grand Theft Auto 6 confirms a six‑star wanted system, reviving the mechanic that disappeared after GTA 5.
In the clip, the protagonist Jason cruises a Vapid ’70 Ganado, the vehicle highlighted in internal rips, before triggering the wanted system during a confrontation with a civilian. The screen flashes the familiar stars in the top right, confirming six levels—four of which are greyed out, suggesting a capped maximum similar to earlier titles.
Six‑Star Return
Rockstar Games historically used a six‑star system in every title leading up to GTA 5. The newly surfaced gameplay, despite its slightly fuzzy mini‑map, aligns with that tradition, indicating the final version will likely maintain the same feature set.
Earlier allegations that the footage could be an older beta are tempered by the fact that the clip matches known GTA 6 vehicles and early build art, lending credence to its authenticity.
Behind the Leak
A jailed GTA 6 leaker confirmed a source months ago, and the community now appears convinced the video is genuine rather than AI generated. Rockstar’s rapid removal of related posts further supports the real‑leak theory. The disclosure comes ahead of the GTA 6 Extended Look scheduled for August 27, fueling speculation.
The leakers have publicly listed demands, notably requesting physical game discs instead of empty boxes with code-only releases. Fans urged by the pre‑order campaign also anticipate exclusive rewards at launch.
What It Means for Players
Lobby readers in comments are encouraged to share their thoughts on the footage, while Rockstar’s response—and the eventual launch decisions—will shape the upcoming experience. As the community and the development team settle the debate, fans await more leaks and official confirmation.
