The director thinks that the production of CD Projekt RED has received “an unfair amount of shit”
The new CD Projekt RED went on sale after several delays and with much anticipation on their shoulders. The reality is that Cyberpunk 2077 did not work well on the base consoles, so the studio has had to apologize and draw up an update plan to stabilize the performance of the product. Josef Fares, head of Brothes: A Tale of Two Sons, A Way Out and It Takes Two, defended the CD Projekt RED video game in a conversation with Geoff Keighley, The Game Awards emcee.
“Cyberpunk has received an unfair amount of shit,” he says. Keighley then asks him if he thinks he has gotten an unfair treatment, and the creative pointed out that it has been “a witch hunt”, perhaps referring to the death threats that CD Projekt Red received. All that not to mention the hacker attack, which has led to the theft of sensitive material, including the source code of some of its games. In fact, the Poles had to ask Twitter to delete several tweets in which the code of GWENT, the card game of The Witcher, was shared.
Trouble working due to attack
The current situation for CD Projekt RED is not very rosy. As Jason Schreier posted on Bloomberg, many workers have been out of work for weeks. The reason is that the hacker attack has compromised internal security. Taking into account that employees work from home due to the coronavirus, accessing the network can represent a new security breach.
Cyberpunk 2077 went on sale on December 2 on PS4, Xbox One, PC and Google Stadia. The Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PS5 version currently works through backward compatibility, but the studio is working on a patch that will optimize the game for the new generation. According to the plan presented, everything seems to indicate that this free update will be delayed at least until the second half of 2021.
