The new Kojima Productions is conceived as a closed story in which its creator has embodied his creative idea at all levels.
Hideo Kojima has written a fixed and closed story, he has worked on a script that does not give rise to ramifications depending on the player's decisions. Unlike other open world games, Death Stranding opts for an argument that does not leave the line, which has everything tied and well tied. The creative has given a talk on a panel of the EGX in Berlin and said he has channeled the player's freedom through game mechanics, not his narrative.
"As in any open world game, you can go anywhere, right?" Kojima asks rhetorically. “And you can do anything. If you couldn't, it wouldn't be fun, right? ” However, the story itself should be a destination. ” According to the head of Kojima Productions, if a character is destined to die, the player cannot avoid it because it is his fate. ” The creator of Death Stranding says that he tries to balance both aspects, and although he considers it complicated, he emphasizes that there are ways to do it successfully.
When it comes to writing his stories, Kojima is blunt: he captures what he has in mind, without getting carried away by the feedback of the players: “I listen to the players, because they are part of it, they have to play it. I monitor it a lot and I hear what they say, ”he explains. “But not the story or the subject. That depends exclusively on me. ”
Death Stranding will have a release patch
Not even Sam Porter Bridges gets rid of the updates of day 1. However, this time, we are not facing a heavy patch, much less, since it only occupies 1 GB. According to the patch notes offered by Kojima Productions, it is designed primarily to fix problems and balance the game. Therefore, there will not be any kind of unpublished content regarding what is already in the base game.
Death Stranding will go on sale on November 8 on PS4 and in early summer 2020 on PC.
