The creator and director of Nintendo's successful fighting saga celebrates the arrival of Terry Bogard from SNK justifying the absence of another mythical fighter from the company.
Recently we have been able to know all the details of the arrival of Terry Bogard to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate of Nintendo Switch through a Nintendo Direct by Masahiro Sakurai, creator and director of the franchise, a special program dedicated to the new guest that arrives directly from the famous Fatal Fury fighting saga. And precisely the creative Japanese himself has justified the absence of another great SNK fighter in the squad of his crossover, Mai Shiranui, considering that "it is not for all ages."
Sakurai apologizes for the absence
And it is that Terry Bogard does not reach only Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, since in his own fight scenario we can observe several well-known characters of his fight franchise in SNK, names as popular as Andy Bogard, Joe Higashi, Athena Asamiya or Blue Mary, although more striking is the absence of a code name in SNK such as Mai Shiranui.
However, the Japanese creative himself explains that the decision not to include Mai among the most prominent Fatal Fury fighters in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate responds to age limit reasons: “You will have noticed that a very important character is missing. Yes, Mai Shiranui. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is a game for people of almost all ages, so we decided not to include it. I hope you forgive us, ”says Sakurai in the Nintendo Direct video.
And it is that Mai Shiranui is one of the most recurring characters of SNK in both Fatal Fury and The King of Fighters, a fighter who has been present in many deliveries of the most popular games of the company responsible for the mythical Neo Geo e even in other recent wrestling titles outside of SNK like Dead or Alive 6.
