When it comes to graphics and pixel counting for the next generation, the predominant topic is raytracing technology. Just as exciting, however, will be individual areas, such as the physics presentation, on which there is a small outlook today.
The Last of Us and Assassin’s Creed Animator, Jonathan Cooper, is showing a short clip demonstrating the capabilities of the latest Unreal Engine 4 version, including the next leap in hair physics.
This part in particular is one of the greatest challenges in game development, and if you make real progress, as in the current clip, you will hardly be able to make out any differences between the game and the real world in the future.

In the end it is of course also the talent and ambition of the animator to get the most out of the technology and to know how to use it. But it should already be clear that you can look forward to some real highlights with the PS5 and Xbox Series X.
